Published Records Availability
Note: Published Records are only available from either the master language(EN-US) or fallback language.
A localized record functions as an independent entity with its own versioning system and publishing queue status. When publishing a localized version, the most recent version of that specific record is sent for publishing.
An unlocalized record derives its content from its designated fallback language. If there is no data available in the fallback language, then the record inherits content from the master language record. When publishing an unlocalized version, the latest version of the content available in its fallback language is sent for publishing.
Example Scenario
Consider a multilingual website offering content in English (United States), French (France), Spanish (Spain), and German (Germany).
With English (United States) designated as the master language, versions of records available in other languages can be published directly from the publishing modal accessible through the English (United States) interface. Within this modal, there is an option to specify the languages in which the selected records will be published.
Publishing Language Variants of an Unlocalized Record
To publish all the language variants of an unlocalized record at once, follow these steps:
- Access the record that needs to be published.
- Use the language selector option located in the top-right corner of the page to choose the desired language.
- Click on Publish button.
- In the Publish Records popup that appears, select the unlocalized language(s) in which the record should be published.
- All unlocalized languages will be listed in the Publish Records popup if bulk publishing is done in the master language "en-us". Only child unlocalized languages will be listed if bulk publishing is done in the fallback language.
- If any of the published languages are later localized, they will automatically go unpublished, creating a new versioning system.
