Fields define the structure of a content type. What type of data will be displayed in the content is determined by the fields you configure in a content type. For example, if you are trying to create a content type for the Blog page, you will need fields like Title, Body, Category, Tags, etc.
All the content you will add as records in the Content Library goes into these fields.
