Organize all your assets in the media manager with the help of folders.
You can perform the following operations on folders:
- Create Folder
- Rename Folder
- Delete Folder
Note: You need permission to manage files or folders (i.e., create, update, and delete), or you should have the “Workspace Admin” role. Learn more about the roles and permissions.
Create a Folder
To create a folder or subfolder, follow these steps:
- Go to your workspace.
- Click on the Media Manager icon given in the left sidebar.
- Browse to the folder where you want to create a new folder.
- Click on the Create Folder button at the screen's top right corner.
- A dialog box will appear asking for the name of the new folder. Enter the name and click on Create button.
- The folder will be created, and you will be directed to that folder, where you can add assets.
- You can also create subfolders inside a folder by browsing to the folder where you want to create a subfolder and repeating steps 4 & 5.
Rename a Folder
To rename a folder, follow these steps:
- Go to your workspace.
- Click on the Media Manager icon given in the left sidebar.
- In the left side panel, hover on the folder name you want to rename and click on the three dots next to it.
- Choose Rename option, and a dialog box will appear with the name field pre-populated with its current name.
- Rename the folder and click on the Save button to update the folder name.
Limitations:
- The folder name cannot contain any of these characters:
" * : < > ? / \ |
- The maximum length of characters allowed is 30.
- You can create nested folders up to the depth of 5 levels.
Delete a Folder
To delete a folder, follow these steps:
- Go to your workspace.
- Click on the Media Manager icon given in the left sidebar.
- In the left side panel, hover on the folder name you want to delete and click on the three dots next to it.
- Choose the Delete option, and a dialog box will appear to confirm the delete operation.
- Confirm the delete action to remove it permanently.
Note: The folder cannot be deleted if it contains any files in it.
